THE PENNSYLVANIA FILM PRODUCTION TAX CREDIT PROGRAM

You’ve seen a lot of Pennsylvania (without even realizing). That’s because Pennsylvania encourages creators to shape it into the next Gotham City, Virtuoso, or Post-Apocalyptic Zombie Fallout. Whatever you want Pennsylvania and the Poconos to be, it comes with a great tax incentive.

Pennsylvania offers a 25% Tax Credit to films that spend at least 60% of their total production within the Commonwealth. Projects eligible for Film Tax Credits under the program are: the production of a feature film, a television film, a television talk show or game show, a television commercial, a television pilot, or each episode of a television series intended as programming for a national audience.

An additional 5% tax credit, for a total of 30%, is available for productions that meet the minimum state filming requirements at a Qualified Production Facility.

APPLICATIONS FOR THE TAX CREDIT ARE REVIEWED DURING THE FOLLOWING PERIODS

  • July 1 through September 30

  • October 1 through December 31

  • January 1 through March 31

  • April 1 through June 30
